SUMMER’S finale was a spectacular but short-lived storm on Sunday that knocked a sailboat into the path of a ferry.
Ferry passenger Troy Muenzer watched the collision along with other shocked onlookers on board the Queenscliff ferry.
“The storm really started to get bad as we approached a sailboat — the ferry was blowing its horn,” Mr Muenzer said.
“The sailboat clearly had no control (in) the rapid waves … it smacked hard into the ferry and looked as if it was going to capsize.”
