SailGP – Relive all the drama from Christchurch

If you can face watching the highlights from the SailGP at the weekend, here they are. Personally, I find it hard to watch.!

SailGP’s second visit to New Zealand was packed with drama from the beginning, with Emirates GBR crashing into Spain in practice and Race Day 1 canceled due to dolphin activity on the racecourse. The drama continued when Race Day 2 dawned, with a three-boat pile up in the start box and Australia sustaining serious damage after hitting a race mark – all in the first fleet race.

But consistent fleet racing saw Peter Burling’s Black Foils battle their way into the Final and execute flawless manoeuvers to beat Canada and France and take the Season 4 lead from Australia.

Next up, SailGP returns to Bermuda for the Apex Group Bermuda Sail Grand Prix, and hopefully the Flying Roo will be on that start line with a new main cross beam.
