Traditionally mooring buoys have been a hard plastic buoy.
Waters Marine CEO, Jody Waters says, “Many of our customers have asked over the years for a mooring buoy that won't bang and damage their hull on slack water. We tried products from the US, but they were too expensive, and nobody in Australia could make a similar product.
“I have now sourced from China a buoy made for shipping, which has a closed cell foam core, and an elastomer outer skin. This means the buoys are incredibly strong, and can absorb impact, as well as being much softer than plastic.
“With the internal foam core, they cannot absorb water, so will never collapse and sink with your mooring tackle. We can mark these with your mooring number.”
Waters Marine expects delivery of the new buoys in late July or early August. Small size – 300 x 500 $440 & Big size 400 x 800 $660.
