Skiff Fest 24 will comprise B14 Australian Championships, Javelin Australian Championships, and Musto Skiff Australian Championships which will make for some spectacular racing and viewing.

It’s the first time all three skiff classes have joined forces at a national championships which is expected to generate much interest from the yachting fraternity and local community.

The regatta is expected to bring competitors together from all over Australia to compete, ranging from 16 to 75 years of age, and is expected to be a terrific boost for local tourism.

Safety Beach is one of the premier locations on Port Phillip Bay for skiff sailing with its beautiful beaches, flat waters and solid sea breezes which makes it an incredibly busy summer beach holiday destination.

Safety Beach Sailing Club is a very family friendly sailing club with club racing on most Sunday’s between October and April, and an active youth sailing program which is developing the next generation of champion Australian sailors. New members are welcome at the club, and the commercially operated restaurant overlooking the beach from the second level is absolutely breathtaking.

Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos said it’s fantastic that Melbourne will hold Skiff Fest 2024 on Port Phillip Bay through the Safety Beach Sailing Club
“Skiff Fest 24 is bringing visitors from across Australia to the Mornington Peninsula, boosting tourism and local businesses all along the coast in peak holiday season.

“Thanks to support through the Significant Sporting Events Program, Skiff Fest 24 will deliver six days of elite sailing on Port Phillip Bay, showing off this picturesque part of Melbourne to thousands of visitors.”
