The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia is seeking a self-motivated person to lead the growth, expansion and diversification of the CYCA training and development program through identifying and developing the next generation of sailing talent.
The successful candidate will implement a performance sailing training program that meets the parameters of the program budget and performance objectives of the YSA.
Acting as Head Coach, as well as providing coaching tuition to students, the position will be responsible for acquiring other coaches to assist with the YSA program, and includes preparation of rosters, mentoring and performance monitoring.
The YSA has already produced a number of Australia’s top level sailors, so a major component of the role will be to identify sailors in national and state championships and school programs to participate in CYCA YSA squads. The person will be expected to be an advocate for the YSA and its goals.
Knowledge of designated support services necessary to deliver optimum effectiveness for the YSA program is required. These include; sports science; sports medicine; athlete physiological, mental preparation and also career and education advice.
This unique and rewarding position is a full-time role and applicants should be prepared to work flexible hours such as weekends and evenings when required.
Candidates with experience from a similar position and background displaying similar objectives will be well regarded.
Salary is by negotiation, dependent on experience.
