Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca – Day 4

More Breeze, More Action!

Report by Australian Sailing

The Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca by Fergus Hotels Regatta saw stronger offshore winds, big oscillations, and a mix of flat water and chop, making it a tactical and physical game on the racecourse. Those who nailed their timing and positioning reaped the rewards, while others had to fight their way back through the fleet.

Daily Highlights

🔸 Grae Morris was on fire in iQFOiL course racing, using his speed to bank three top-three finishes, reclaiming 1st overall as he heads into the final stretch.

🔸 Mara Stransky was ice-cool under pressure, piecing together a rock-solid day to surge into 3rd overall in ILCA 6. Zoe Thomson wasn’t far behind, grinding her way through the fleet to sit 4th overall.

🔸 Laura Harding & Annie Wilmot made a key shift in their approach in the 49erFX, and it paid off with a 2nd-place finish, setting them up just outside the top 10 ahead of a crucial Day 5.

🔸 Ethan McAullay bounced back in ILCA 7, closing the day with a 3rd-place finish. He and Zac Littlewood sit 13th & 14th, but with just 10 points to the top 10, everything is still in play.

🔸 The Nacra 17 squad thrived in the stronger breeze. Brin Liddell & Rhiannan Brown had their best day yet, scoring a 3rd, 1st, and 4th to jump to 5th overall. Ruben & Rita Booth broke through with their first top-3 finish of the regatta, climbing to 8th overall.
