Two race days to go in the Pantaenius Championship for WA IRC Yachts

A threatening forecast last Sunday resulted in another race day postponed for Western Australia’s IRC competitors. This weekend, Divisions 1, 2 and 3 will line up again for a resail of the windward-leeward racing.

With two race days to go for these three fleets, anything could happen as far as the results go. So far there are three passage races on the results sheet and four windward-leeward races scheduled to complete the series. The championship is a one drop event, results are tight and the style of racing is about to change.

At this stage moderate offshore winds are on the radar, fantastic for short course racing. If this eventuates, crews will work hard on their tactics and race strategy in the shifty shore breeze, it should be a fantastic sight.

The double-handed division will rest this weekend and wait for the final day of the championship on Saturday 01 August where they will contest a passage race to wrap up the event organized by Fremantle Sailing Club and sponsored by Pantaenius Insurance.
