Day 2 of the 20th Warren Jones International Youth Regatta got underway today with racing commencing this morning. Flight one saw sailors presented with light winds and a hot 35 degrees before being sent ashore to standby for the afternoon sea breeze to kick in.
The afternoon session saw the event truly kick off with nine flights completed in a glamour 15-18 knot south-westerly giving sailors a true taste of the classic Swan River conditions. All teams put their best foot forward as they looked to make solid start to their campaigns.
After Day 1, Cole Tapper, Ethan Prieto-Low and Marcello Torre have gained a strong score card that they will look to continue into tomorrow as we finish the last of Round Robin 1 and move into the second Round Robin of the event.
Wednesday is looking to produce similar conditions with a light north-easterly breeze in the morning, followed by the sea breeze filling in from the south-west in the afternoon.
