World's first digital sextant provides GPS back-up

The Korean-designed Digital Sextant is claimed to be the first electronic sextant in the world and gives you quick and rapid identification of your location plus reliable back-up in case of GPS malfunction or failure.

The developers say that current position can be identified by observing the sun, moon, polar star and solar system planets including 57 selected navigational stars. The instrument then does all the calculations for you.

It has taken the company more than a year to develop, but they advise that finished products will be available in November, and they are currently looking for distributors around the world.
